Ayushman Shivir initiative envisages to hold health camps at the Ayushman Arogya Mandir (SHC & PHC) and specialist medical camps at Community Health Centres once in each month.
The specialist services will be ensured through monthly visits on the fixed days by specialist from Medical Colleges/District Hospitals at each CHC, specialist from DH/CHC at PHC and MOs from PHC/CHC/DH/District Residency Prog. at SHC level. Ayush services shall also be provided by Ayush doctors posted at PHC/CHC/DH/Ayush medical colleges/ Ayush Dispensaries. Following are the key activities to be undertaken during the melas
- Availability of specialist services i.e. Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, Surgeon, Anaesthetist, Eye specialist, ENT specialist, Dermatologist, Psychiatrist, Dental surgeon etc. (at CHC/PHC only)
- Surgery (Minor/Major), MTP, cataract surgeries etc (at CHC only).
- Ayushman card issuance to eligible beneficiaries
- ABHA (Health ID) creation
- RMNCAH+N services, TB screening and treatment, population enumeration and Community Based Assessment Checklist (CBAC) filling by ASHAS, screening and treatment of NCDs, sickle cell screening and treatment
- Distribution of hearing aids and spectacles
- Ayush services
- IEC, BCC and Counselling services
- Sickle cell Screening and distribution of Sickle cell card (in affected area only)
- Wellness activities (Wellness activities can be focused on a range of themes such as Yoga, personal hygiene (including menstrual hygiene), dietary diversity and nutrition (including anaemia), Substance Abuse: Tobacco, Alcohol and drugs, Mental Health (including suicides, depression), relationships, physical activity, meditation etc.)
To streamline and institutionalize these Ayushman Arogya Shivirs, States/UTs can propose a budget upto Rs. 10,000 per month at each CHC through regular process of PIPS. States which have already proposed for health camps can use the funds approved in the head.
